Paul Dean is a chartered civil engineer with over 40 years’ experience in the planning and delivery of water supply and sanitation services, drainage and flood management in the UK, sub-Saharan Africa, South and Southeast Asia, the Balkans and the Caribbean. Much of his portfolio has focused on the assessment of technical, economic, financial and organisational factors, along with environmental and climate change impacts and socio cultural capacities and requirements, in order to design projects and training to suit. For Adaptation Leader, he assesses and costs the effects of climate change over appropriate timescales, and he identifies and costs strategic resilience measures and capacity building requirements, especially for communities and organisations at high risk to the present and expected effects of climate change. Paul provides strategic perspectives and support to organisations seeking to increase the climate change resilience of their infrastructure, technical organisation and/or service delivery.
